Bullying. No Way! Week is a nationwide campaign aimed at preventing bullying through education, community engagement, and meaningful action. Each year, Bullying. No Way! Week shines a spotlight on the importance of building safe, respectful, and inclusive environments. This year the theme is: “Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.” This theme encourages individuals to show courage in standing up for what’s right, to lead with kindness, and to speak out when they see or experience bullying. The week encourages all Australians to come together and take a stand against bullying.
At Psyche Mental Health Centre, we proudly support this initiative and recognise the significant toll bullying can take on an individual’s mental health. Bullying is never acceptable, and addressing it requires a united, informed, and compassionate response.

The Mental Health Impact of Bullying
Bullying is more than a temporary conflict and it can have serious and long-lasting effects on an individual's mental health and quality of life. Whether it occurs face-to-face or online, repeated bullying can lead to:
Anxiety and depression
Low self-esteem and self-worth
Difficulty with trust and social relationships
Emotional dysregulation and anger
Withdrawal from school, work, or social situations
Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
Children, adolescents, and adults alike can experience psychological distress from bullying. It’s essential to validate these experiences, provide a safe space for recovery, and where necessary, seek professional mental health support.
How You Can Get Involved
There are many ways to “Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up”. The Bullying. No Way! Week campaign has given some examples and encourages the following focus topics for each day;
Day 1. Be Bold: You have the power to help. Being bold doesn’t mean putting yourself in
danger, it means choosing to do what’s right.
Day 2. Be Kind: Small actions make a big impact. Kindness builds connection, and
connection helps prevent bullying.
Day 3. Speak Up: Speak up against bullying. When you speak up, you show others that
bullying is not accepted.
Day 4. Think before you post or speak. The words we use can build someone up or tear
them down. That’s why it’s so important to think before we speak, type or post.
Day 5. Together, we can stop bullying. The best way to stop bullying is by working together.
That means families, friends and peers standing up, speaking out, and supporting
each other.
